A significant book called "Be Dangerous On Rock Guitar" by Richard Daniels was shared with me by my college best friend.
REVIEW:
The way with words in this big book tailored for serious rock guitar wannabe mentioned the legendary approach of guitar heroes, such as Jimi Hendrix, Roy Orbison, Van Halen & others in the hall of fame, who blew the place off with their riffs. It heavily motivates the readers to master the fretboard if they wish to save their lives and pull it off -- packed with precious scale diagrams, not limited to church mode, as a definitive reference.
The book has a unique format with catchy illustrations to keep the reader's interest flowing. It's written with conviction and a strong sense of humor. Too many numbers in diagrams and tabs could be boring, the reason why the author used iconic symbols as substitutes laid in a nifty manner to represent special notes added to the scale.
While a reader could jump into using diagrams from other sources at once and improvise, the book meant to let the reader appreciate the beauty of rock guitar playing, and at the same time, elaborating its power when applied.
Somehow, this book opened the can of worms in exploring rock music, with guitar as the tool.
